Art and philosophy

My goal with art is to simply find discovering new things about my self and the world through finding powerful expressions in all things, no matter what medium. I believe feelings always arrive in the human mind before any kind of conceptualized thought, and as such, should be given first priority in sound, word and image. I also believe combining these media, into what was sometimes called "Gesamtkunstwerk" (or "allmenkunstverk" in Norwegian), is probably the most effective way of expressing these feelings. Just like with music, largely because I am self taught, I also have fortunately no stake in the outcome of any particular ideology or movement, leaving me able to create what comes to mind, almost by itself, without any conscience,  conciousness or conscientiousness for a given outcome. True there are obvious political or religious messages or mindsets that can be found in my music and art as much as with anyone else's, but these lie behind my real intentions to just create.

Very little of my art is titled, excepting the possible future catalog numbers, because the expression of the work comes first. What matters is the process by which they were made, not whichever associations might have struck the viewer's gaze upon first viewing (or hundreth). Academics in particular share the all too common and unfortunate tendency of overcategorizing and oversymbolizing, getting tangled up with whatever "motive", "theme" or even "message" the thing is supposed to carry. Honestly I don't even know, and that is often what causes the best pieces, and lends them almost magical powers. Even Freud said "Sometimes a happy ending is just a happy ending".
